Raise the base during infancy to protect your back when putting your child to sleep. As your little one grows and begins to stand up, we recommend that you lower the base. When the rail section is no longer needed, a bed rail/ sofa front can be added to transform the bed into an open bed with a bed rail or a cozy, little sofa. The bed rail/sofa front module is purchased separately.
